Hi Glory,
There are several options you can use to research a product's reputation. I would suggest the following:
- Customer review sites – Websites like G2, Trustpilot, and Capterra allow users to view customer reviews for free, although these are typically at the vendor level. You may need to do some digging to find reviews on a particular product. On G2, there's an option to search the reviews for keywords, but for the other two sites, you probably just have to use Ctrl + F to search for the product name in the reviews. Social media can also be a good source to find product reviews and complaints.
- Industry reports – Analyst reports from companies like Forrester or Gartner could also be helpful in researching a particular product.
- Case studies – Request case studies from the vendor and reach out to the subject for more insight on their experience with the vendor's product/service.
- Third-party audits – Ask if the vendor has any third-party audits or certifications for their products, as this can help verify a certain level of quality and compliance to industry standards.
In most cases, it's best to use a combination of these resources so your research is more diverse and thorough. I hope these suggestions are helpful and I'd love to know how others are researching this topic.

Subject: Product Reputation vs Vendor Reputation
Are there any resources to research product reputation? What if a vendor has many products and some products are better than others? I came across this in a recent discussion and am now curious.
