I'm curious to hear how different organizations, especially financial institutions, but not limited to this sector, are approaching AI.

    Are your organization,

    • Hesitant and cautious, holding off because of the risks?

    • Exploring ways to "work with" AI to enhance their existing operations?

    • Actively building or starting to develop AI-based solutions to help teams, members/customers, and processes?

For example, at my organization we've started an internal AI initiative with select team members. The goal is to brainstorm, test, and eventually deliver solutions where AI can provide the most value, whether that's supporting our members directly, helping employees, or streamlining back-office processes.

One practical project we're working on is an AI agent that can quickly identify key contract terms and conditions. The idea is to cut down the hours spent reviewing dense vendor agreements while still ensuring nothing important slips through.

I'd love to hear what others are seeing or doing in their organizations. Have you launched AI pilots, set up internal governance, or even deployed AI tools already? Are you finding resistance, enthusiasm, or a mix of both?

Looking forward to learning how different industries are navigating this space.

At our mortgage brokerage, we're actively exploring how AI can support both internal operations and client-facing services. Some of our third-party vendors already leverage AI to streamline their offerings, and we're starting to identify internal processes where AI can drive efficiency-with appropriate safeguards in place.

Our marketing team is one area where AI is currently being used, and we're planning to develop a formal AI policy and procedures guide for staff, ideally by the end of the year. I've been pulling together input from our IT service provider, leadership, and emerging government guidelines to shape this.

One regulatory development we're keeping a close eye on is the Strengthening Artificial Normalization and Diffusion by Oversight and Experimentation Act (the SANDBOX Act). It proposes a 10-year regulatory grace period to encourage AI innovation. I've been following its trajectory for the past six years-from initial skepticism to now being asked to incorporate it into our operational planning.

I'm following this thread closely to gain more insight into how others are approaching AI. There's clearly a lot we can learn from different sectors.
