In relation to SOC reporting, the SOC auditor should always be a properly licensed certified public accounting firm in order for the user entity (you) to rely on the audit of the vendor’s controls. In a SOC report, the Service Auditor is the entity performing a SOC examination of the service organization’s
(vendor’s) controls.
