CAMELS Rating

Final

A supervisory rating system originally developed in the U.S. to classify a credit union’s overall condition. It’s now applied to every bank and credit union in the U.S. and is also implemented outside the U.S. by various banking supervisory regulators. The CAMELS results represent Capital adequacy, Asset quality, Management, Earnings, Liquidity and asset-liability management, and Sensitivity to market risk, which are generally considered highly confidential.
