    Hi, 

    Are cleaning companies "required" to do background checks on their employees?  I have read a few articles that said they are, however I would like to know what others are doing with this type of vendor, is it just a yes or no question or are you collecting some document(s)? or something altogether different, or nothing at all.

    Yes, we require cleaning companies to do background checks, as well as performance monitoring. We review their policies for doing both and put it in the contracts. We do not collect anything for the specific employees - instead, relying on their processes.

    We include the requirement for background checks in the contract, but do not collect anything to verify on any individual employees.

    We inquire about the agency's hiring practice and evidence of background checks or screening process.  We also get evidence that their employees are bonded depending on the type of services being provided.
