Policy, Program and Procedures

One of my 2020 goals is going to be working diligently to get additional vendor management budget approval. In the past I've presented software that I wanted and/or the additional resources needed as well as sound reasoning behind it all but haven't had the best of luck. Mainly this is because I work for a smaller organization where budget is very limited. Anyone have any great budget tips? What has worked well for you or helped your team see why additional vendor management budget is so critical?

You may have tried most but just in case:

What's in it for them?  Though a smaller organization, pull statistics about other companies facing issues surrounding cyber security (Equifax and Wawa recently), the fines and costs to repair the issue plus their reputation that go with it.  And pull statistics on regulatory fines organizations have faced due to lack of a solid program/system.  Finally, find a reasonably priced Vendor Management system (Venminder) that can provide you the infrastructure needed.  And for the record I don't work for Venminder.
