What are you doing, if anything, regarding the Corona-virus outbreak as far as vendor management goes?

We are doing a special review of all of our Critical and High-Risk vendors as to their Pandemic Plan and having discussions with these vendors to get a sense whether they have thought through this type of pandemic.  We are mostly interested in finding out their capabilities of having a significant portion of their workforce being able to work remotely.  We did not have a scenario in our plan where whole departments conceivably may be quarantined (our scenario is having 1/3 of our workforce not showing up for work), but not whole departments, buildings, or cities being quarantined.  Also, if the situation gets bad enough and schools close, we need to anticipate all employees with school-age employees will be forced to work from home.

We are thinking services by some vendors may be more vulnerable than others to interruptions caused by a pandemic, such as those that require vendors' personnel to be onsite rather than remote.  Possible examples: Lockbox, physically handling material like Iron Mountain.

We have sent out a request to all our critical vendors for their PnP's for Corna-virus situation. As the information comes in we are reviewing them with management.

We had all of our business owners reach out to their critical vendors, those we consider must have's to keep the business running and obtain the following information:

    • Have they activated their BCP or any form of it?
    • If yes, when and to what degree (all working remote, business travel banned, etc.)
    • How is this impacting the service they provide us?
    • If this continues for another 30-60 days how will that impact specific services we receive

Because we have been given the option to work remotely and there is a chance our facility will close shortly, vendors like Iron Mountain, Vending Services and Janitorial staff will be put on hold.
