Has anyone found a good way to perform financial health monitoring? The service we are using isn't providing useful information on public or private companies. We've found that for the private companies they rely on industry data, which hasn't been relevant. Ideas and suggestions on what has worked would be greatly appreciated!

We utilize D&B Supplier Risk Manager and Rapid Ratings as platforms for financial health ratings.  Use D&B sort of 1st line of indication and if need to dig further and the company is public we pull the FHR report from Rapid Ratings.  If the supplier is critical or significant we team with the business unit to get the private companies financials and have Rapid Ratings conduct the analysis.

D&B also provides OFAC and EPLS as well as Legal conviction indications for us.

We also use D&B as a first line, LexisNexis is our 2nd line.  If we have concerns following D&B and LexisNexis we perform a detailed financial review of the financial records which may include a meeting with vendor.  Previously we had a vendor complete these reviews but I moved those reviews back in house.

In a different thread someone mentioned using Moodys or similar.  I would be interested in anyone is using one of the rating agency reports to see what their experience has been.
