Does anyone use Google Alerts to monitor critical (or any) vendors? If yes, how do you use the tool?

    Hi Mark-
I use google alerts to monitor critical vendors. I have them set up for delivery 1x a day to my mailbox, and to the analyst's mailbox who is assigned to the vendor. Most days the alerts get skimmed and trashed, but there have been items of interest that we use as part of our overall due diligence of the vendors related to their business strategy, as well as legal action and other reputational risk related subjects.  The only downside is that if your critical vendor lends their name to a stadium venue, most days you will just see what concerts are on tap for the venue.  Good Luck

The other 'monitoring tool' that I would highly recommend for critical or 'top tier' third parties is LinkedIn.  Follow the company pages so that all corporate posts on LinkedIn (be they product, personnel, or other news) show up as part of you LI feed.
