  • 1.  Procurement and TPRM - how do they work together?

    Posted 08-03-2021 08:48 AM
Good Morning All - At my organization we currently do not have a centralized procurement function. We have started discussion around adding centralized procurement and I am curious about procurement versus TRPM at other organizations:
    • What are the roles of each function
    • Where does one function start and the other begin,
    • How are they interconnected and
    • What are some best practices for the hand off between these 2 functions?

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

    Shelly,

Our procurement operations, sourcing and TPM teams fall under the Supply Chain Management umbrella, and report up to Finance exec. All teams work closely together during onboarding, contract renewals/extensions, SOWs, and offboarding vendors.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

Our Enterprise Services department handles everything from procurement, sourcing and contracting to vendor relationship management and TPRM.  We serve the entire organization, including IT, and report to the COO.

I'm interested in this, also.  In particular, determining the roles and processes.  It seems like these areas can complement each other well, but there can be areas of overlap.
